Explore how Health Pillars and mindful eating support mood, energy, focus, and wellness, with practical Health Pillars for everyday life.

Mental Health Pillar

There is an axis that connects the gut and brain. Within the gut, the majority of your body's serotonin (mood and happiness hormone) is produced in the gut. Serotonin is unique in that is both a neurotransmitter and hormone depending on the task and location of chemical. Processed foods increase inflammation, which has been shown to increase risk for depression. By eating a balanced diet with complex carbohydrates, we can balance our blood sugar and prevent the crash leading to "hanger" episodes. Healthy fats support brain cell structure, while protein supplies essential amino acids needed to make mood-regulating neurotransmitters.

Emotional Health Pillar

The microbiome, which is healthy bacteria, helps control inflammation and supports neural pathways that help support emotional stability. When our emotions are supported, it is easier to regulate them and stay in control, rather than overreacting to small inconveniences.

Physical Health Pillar

Diet and nutrition can help prevent diseases, decrease risk of obesity and increase energy. Bones and muscle mass can be maintained, and our immune system is better equipped to do its job effectively.

Spiritual Health Pillar

Eating consciously leads to clearing of brain fog and stabilizing energy for mediation and prayer. Mindful eating and fasting are big supporters of being able to focus on following the path God has set before each of us. Food brings together a community of like-minded people.
